Cancer
From Expert System: Cough
Any new tissue growth called neoplasm or cancer that interferes with normal lung function may induce cough. The incidence of lung cancer, as is well-known, is 15-20 higher than normal in smokers. Risks of cancer of the mouth, throat, larynx, and urinary tract (bladder, ureters, and kidney) are comparably greater than normal in moderate to heavy smokers.
