Post Insult Fatigue
From Expert System: Fatigue (Weakness, Exhaustion)
Patients sometimes suffer fatigue for up to 3 months or longer after any major trauma or surgery, particularly following major surgery, such as abdominal, cardiac or major cancer operations. Similarly, following viral infections, major illnesses, and chemotherapy, persistent fatigue may be present for weeks to months. In these cases fatigue outlasts the more specific signs of injury or infection. Ultimately the fatigue improves, sometimes at an excruciatingly slow pace.
